Bicolor parrotfish (Cetoscarus bicolor) juvenile.

Juveniles are orange and white, whereas adults of this species are mostly green and purple. The colour change is spectacular! Although this species can grow very large, growth rates are very slow, typically only growing 1” to 3” a year. In the event they do eventually get too large they are easily rehomed because adults are rarely available, and very expensive.

SIZE

Typically shipped at 2” to 4”, larger specimens are rare. Can grow very large, but, does so very slowly.

COMPATIBILITY

May be kept with some corals with caution, but, risky with many coral species. Usually safe with most inverts, but, risky with shrimps or crabs.
